I did not step into this work because it was a career path.
I was pulled into it by life. By my children. By my own body.
I am the mother of three neurodivergent children.
Three brilliant, intense, emotionally rich souls who were each told, in different ways, that they were “too much,” “too sensitive,” “not trying hard enough,” or “falling behind.”
I watched them struggle in classrooms that were never built for their nervous systems.
I watched my own nervous system swing between panic, exhaustion, advocacy, and collapse.
I tried everything that was supposed to work:
Tutor after tutor
Behavior plans
Therapists and neuropsych reports
Being the “good, reasonable parent” in school meetings
Nothing changed. Not because my children were failing but because we were operating inside systems that were dysregulated by design
And then I realized:
It wasn’t my children that needed to be “fixed.”
It was the nervous system of our entire environment.
And mine was the one that would change everything.
When I stopped trying to force my children to adapt and instead regulated my own nervous system their nervous systems began to follow. Their executive function came online. Their capacity to learn, advocate for themselves, and experience safety increased.
This didn’t just change our home. It changed our trajectory.
This is why I created The Neurodivergent Uprising.
Not to help families survive systems.
But to teach mothers, students, and founders how to regulate so powerfully that systems begin to reorganize around them.
This work is not mental. It is not behavioral.
It is physiological. It is generational. It is revolutionary.
